About our Chapter
Be the Bean: Fredericksburg is a faith-centered leadership community where men and women gather each month to grow, connect, and build meaningful relationships that extend far beyond the room. Our gatherings blend faith, personal growth, and intentional networking, creating a space where people can learn, lead, and link arms with others who want to make a positive impact in their world.
Each month offers a unique mix of teaching, real conversation, and guided connection. We explore themes like character, courage, influence, and calling — and then give people the chance to actually meet one another, exchange ideas, spark collaborations, and build friendships and partnerships that last. It’s leadership development wrapped in community… and community strengthened by networking with purpose.
Be the Bean: Fredericksburg isn’t just a meeting; it’s a movement of people choosing to bring flavor, hope, and excellence into their homes, workplaces, and city. It’s a place where faith is honored, leaders are developed, and relationships are formed that help everyone rise.
If you’re looking for inspiration, authentic community, or a network of people who believe in growth and purpose, you’ll find a seat waiting for you. Come join us — and bring your influence with you.
Chapter Leaders

Shari Courtney
Shari Courtney is the founder of Be the Bean, a faith-anchored leadership movement created to help people rise, lead, and influence the world around them with courage, character, and purpose. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership, ministry, and organizational development, Shari has devoted her life to building people — not just programs.
She is a Certified Leadership Coach, speaker, and strategist known for her ability to create spaces where people feel seen, strengthened, and inspired to grow. Shari blends her deep faith with practical leadership principles to empower men and women to live authentically, lead boldly, and make their communities better — one conversation, one gathering, and one act of courage at a time.
Her passion is simple: to help people discover who they are in Christ, step fully into their God-given purpose, and become leaders who transform the “water” around them — just like the coffee bean.
Rooted in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Shari is building a legacy centered on faith, community, connection, and the belief that when people rise, whole communities rise with them.
